A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This site uses very few.

Strictly necessary - always on
• innovate_consent (stored in your browser, 12 months) - remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking.
• innovate_admin (7 days) - only ever set for staff who sign in to the editor. It is not set for ordinary visitors.
These are required for the site to work and are not used to track you.

Analytics - only if you accept
• Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*, up to 24 months) - counts visits and shows which pages are read. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set unless you press Accept on the banner. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage.

Set by embedded content
Video and eBook readers we embed may set their own cookies once you press play or open the book:
• YouTube - we use the no-cookie player, so nothing is set until you press play.
• Heyzine - the flip-book eBook reader.
These are controlled by those companies, not by us.

Changing your mind
Use the Cookie choices link in the footer at any time. Declining removes nothing that is already on your device - clear cookies in your browser for that. You can also block cookies entirely in your browser settings; the site will still work.

More detail about the information we hold is in our Privacy Policy.
