Privacy Policy

This notice explains what personal information Global Village Ventures LLC ("we", "us") collects through globalvillagepublishing.ca and the INNOVATE® city pages, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
• Information you send us. When you fill in a contact, participation or story form we receive your name, your email address, and anything you write in the message. That is the only personal information we ask for.
• Information collected automatically. Our host records ordinary request data - IP address, browser type, page requested, time - as part of running and protecting the site.
• Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent.
We do not ask for payment card details on this site, and we do not collect special category data.
3. Why we use it
• To reply to you and to run the publishing process you asked to join. Legal basis: performing a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
• To keep the site working and secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• To understand how the site is used. Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. Who else sees it
We use a small number of service providers, each of which processes data only on our instructions:
• Cloudflare - hosting, content delivery, database and file storage.
• Google - Google Fonts (serving typefaces), Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent), and YouTube for embedded videos.
• Heyzine - the embedded flip-book eBook reader.
• Postmark - delivering the emails generated by our forms.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. Where it goes
Our providers operate internationally, so your information may be processed outside your own country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep it
Form submissions are kept for as long as we are in contact with you about the project, and for up to 24 months afterwards. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or send it to someone else. You may also withdraw consent for analytics at any time using the "Cookie choices" link in the footer.
• If you are in the EU or UK (GDPR/UK GDPR), you may complain to your national data protection authority.
• If you are in Canada (PIPEDA), you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
• If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA), you have the rights to know, delete, correct and opt out. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined.

8. Children
This site is meant for business audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
9. Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, say so on the site.
